... in the arms of matter.

Whatever I say to explain this piece will sound very negative ... which I don't want to do ... So I won't. :D

I'll leave it up to you to decide the meaning.

Pencel sketched, coloured in Photoshop. (What do is the catagory for mixed media

The death of illusion or the illusion of death?

--
I personally think we should take all the world leaders, put them in a bull-pit and let them fight to the death. Then the rest of us can go party.

A man who steals bread is desperate; a man who steals art is pond-scum.
Reminds me of the artwork of the lady Frieda Harris who collaborated with Aleister Crowley on his Thoth Tarot.

When there's nothing left to burn you have to set yourself on fire...
Good point. Yes .. but isn't life also an illusion. A dream which one day we will wake up from? ... hmm ... maybe.

The piece originally has little to do with death as such ... More to do with the illusion we have about things like beauty and ourselves. Sometimes the mask slips and we see things without the rose tainted glasses we normally have on.... especially when it comes to people.

I love it when something has more than one possible meaning.... Especially when it's not initially indented.

Thanks so much for the thought provoking comment. ;-)

 I've always wondered which was more real...dreams or waking.

Me too. I'm not sure if it's ever happened to you but I often wonder while I'm dreaming if I'm awake or not... and many times I come to believe that I am awake. Only to find out later that it was only a dream ... That makes me wonder if I'm not asleep right now. :D

I have some unusual dreams in that they appear more real than waking...accented sense of vision, smell, sound, minute details. I've dreamed dreams that I knew I was dreaming and could control them. I've dreamed stuff that hasn't happened yet and that comes true. I've dreamed of being other people/animals/alien creatures. I've had dreams that seemed to last for a lifetime...I mean I've dreamed a whole life story as if it was happening in actual time but I woke up and it was only one night. Weird stuff. From what I've heard, not normal dreams at all. I've even seen colors and felt things I can't describe, because there's no paralell here. Like I said....weeeeeird. =P

What the buggery bollocks? Where did you pull this from?

I'm witholding a critique until I know what the piece is about. Send me a note. Now, dammit!!

Schnell, SCHNELL!!
:wow: Fantastic work Doc:clap:

Live as you breathe, free.
Sticks and stones may break some bones but words cause permanent damage.
If they are bad mouthing me behind my back, you better believe they are bad mouthing you behind yours too.
a guy once said that i was a figment of his imagination...of course i was bemused, and not to say a little hurt, as i really loved the fellow...i haven't heard from him or about him in years...maybe he was a figment of mine...

What a delight this is! All this inventing, this producing, takes place in a pleasing, lively dream.

Yes, maybe he was. LOL! :D But it's impossible to tell. He probably had so little trust that he even questioned the very fabric of your being. Not the marrying type at all.

I use to have that opinion when I was a child. Now I think that maybe we are all half asleep ... We see things through sleepy eyes. ... But I don't try to have a fixed opinion about it ... I think it's healthy to end this kind of discussion with the word "maybe".

BTW I've always loved that quote by Mozart you have as a signature. ;-)
